Infrastructure Architect, 3DEXPERIENCE Platform

LaunchTech Solutions is the official Dassault Systèmes channel partner for the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. When a customer decides to move to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, somebody has to work out how it will actually live inside their existing IT estate. That is this role. As Infrastructure Architect you define and propose an infrastructure that fits the customer rather than one that fights them. You sit with their IT and engineering people, understand what they already run, assess the hardware, network and security constraints, and design how our solutions integrate. You then stay with the project through deployment, so the design you drew is the design that ships. The work spans presales and delivery. You will help answer requests for proposal, present the technical case to a customer, run platform audits, write the architecture dossier and contribute to the statement of work. You will be the person in the room who can say whether something will hold up under real load, and what it would take to make it hold up. Certification on the Dassault Systèmes portfolio is part of the role, so strong infrastructure people who have not worked with our products before are still worth talking to. What we cannot teach quickly is the judgement that comes from having designed and deployed real systems for real customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering or an equivalent field
• At least 3 years designing, deploying or supporting business critical infrastructure
• Practical understanding of servers, networking, storage, virtualisation and security, on premise and in the cloud
• Able to run a requirements workshop with a customer's IT team and turn the outcome into a written architecture
• Comfortable writing technical documentation that another engineer can actually follow
• Strong communication and presentation skills, since much of this role is explaining a design to people who will fund it
• Excellent problem solving, able to work alone and inside a team
• Willing to travel within the UAE, and occasionally to Saudi Arabia, for client meetings and on site work
• Currently in the United Arab Emirates and able to work here
• Experience with Dassault Systèmes products, PLM, CAD, CAM, CAE or MES is a strong advantage
• Scripting and automation experience is an advantage
• Exposure to deploying or maintaining AI models is welcome but not expected

Responsibilities

• Define and propose sustainable infrastructure that integrates cleanly with the customer's existing IT landscape
• Design the architecture components, modules, interfaces and data flows for multi component systems against a stated requirement
• Interview clients to gather requirements on their IT landscape, and drive the hardware, software, network and infrastructure assessment
• Make sure the design and deployment meet what the client expects on security, service levels, performance, scalability and capacity
• Promote the 3DEXPERIENCE platform on cloud and on premise, identifying which deployment model genuinely suits each client
• Carry out platform audits and write the recommendation report
• Document the technical integration of Dassault Systèmes solutions using recognised architectural patterns and good practice
• Contribute to requests for information and requests for proposal across presales, sales and delivery
• Contribute to the statement of work and act as a key contributor to Value Engagement deliverables
• Support the customer during deployment and into production
• Advise clients on change management around their infrastructure processes
• Identify additional revenue opportunities that come out of technical conversations
• Create and maintain documentation covering design, deployment, configuration and troubleshooting
• Train and support colleagues and end users on infrastructure practice and platform use
• Validate your expertise through Dassault Systèmes certification programmes
