SRU SimUnit tokens are a shared central pool for solver use across the SIMULIA portfolio. When a simulation job starts, it checks out the required SRUs for the duration of the run, and when the job finishes, those SRUs are returned to the pool for others to use.

SRU Token Calculator for SIMULIA Abaqus FEA
Abaqus draws on one SRU model, and Standard and Explicit are charged the same way. A job on up to two cores draws 15 SRUs. Each doubling of cores after that adds 10, so four cores draw 25, eight draw 35 and sixteen draw 45. Core counts in between sit on the same curve, so six cores draw 31 and twenty draw 48. A GPU adds 5 SRUs, and each doubling of GPUs adds 5 more, so two GPUs add 10 and four add 15. Both solvers scale on the GPU, so count the GPU SRUs for an Explicit job as well as a Standard one.

High Frequency solvers start at 17 SRUs up to 32 CPU cores. Token usage then grows in a logarithmic way with CPU count. Add 5 SRUs for each doubling of cores above 32 cores. If GPUs are used, add 5 SRUs for 1 GPU and add 5 more for each doubling of GPUs such as 1 to 2 to 4 to 8.
